Article: Emergent Inclusivism

Just a link to an article by Rev. Ken Silva of Apprising ministries. The article speaks for itself, and I agree with what it says.

Emergent Inclusivism

Btw, for those of us who don't know what the emergent/emerging church is, in simple words, it is postmodern Christianity. Granted that there is wide variation in various of these churches, what they do have in common is the denigration of doctrine and skepticism about absolute truth, if not outright denial. An example of an emerging church in Singapore is the Free Community Church, an openly gay lifestyle endorsing church (See http://www.singapore-window.org/sw05/050730ap.htm) where gay members live in open sin. One truly wonders whether they are truly saved, as Jesus says that by their fruit you will know them(Mt. 7:20), thus their sinful lifestyle seems to show forth an unregenerate heart.

Bro, I'm not trying to shoot you down or what. But rather than just speaking against such things, can't we just love the people but condemn their sins/lifestyles? What they are doing is indeed wrong but we should show them the love and bring them to their senses?

Hello Gabriel,

the main question we have to ask ourselves is: 'How are we to love the person?' Does love mean that we do not expose their sins? Notice that I do not condemn them, just expose their sins. As with all other non-Christians, they are called to repent of their sins and turn to Christ alone. Casting doubt on their salvation is not condemning them, as long as you do it according to Scripture, which I think I have done. (Btw, Scripture knows no such person as a Christian who is living with Christ as Savior but not Lord.)

Cheers,
Daniel Chew.
