This is my blog, and in order to facilitate an edifying exchange, I have came up with various blog rules. Please do read them before commenting, as failure to abide by them would make your post liable to being unapproved for publication. Violation of any of the rules three or more times, or at the blog owner's judgment, would make one liable to be banned from posting unless the blog owner (me) is satisfied that such behavior would not occur again.

ReplyDeleteTruth is seldom welcome, because it hurts and pierces right through the heart of men! Throughout her history, Israel murdered so many true prophets sent of God culminating in the crucifixion of the Messiah.
It's a little more difficult calling falsehoods out in Christian circles, unfortunately, because even those who err believe that they have the Truth on their side...

Who possesses the truth? Pur. or Sic. or someone else? Oh ya, I know! The bible IS truth! I know that one. Even the apostate knows that.
But who's interpretation of the Bible is considered THE truth? Yours?

ReplyDeletethe Scripture's interpretation is the correct one, and the Spirit of God works in the hearts of believers to bring them to that correct interpretation. (Jn. 14:26; 1 Cor. 2:9-16).
As an aside, since you clearly deny Sola Scriptura, who is your ultimate authority? Yourself? The culture? Or the "community"?

ReplyDeleteYou should try spending some time reading the Puritans, the Reformers, and modern Christians like RC Sproul, John Piper, CJ Mahaney, Josh Harris, Michael Horton and James White for starters, then you will see what is meant by the Spirit interpreting Scripture. All of them btw are unaminous on the moajor issues of the Christian faith, and I wil stand with these giants of the faith in that.
As a rule, stick with those who uphold Sola Scriptura as historically formulated and you will see the amazing consensus between how we as the Church have always interpreted Scripture.
And you still have not answer my question. What is your authority then in interpreting Scripture?
